James Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5 will get 24-carat gold improve however it’s dear

In honour of the iconic 007 film Goldfinger’s diamond anniversary, seven luxurious 24-carat gold-plated versions of James Bond’s legendary Aston Martin DB5 will hit the market, each carrying a price tag of nearly £25,000.

The collector’s items are not short on pizzazz; they boast a variety of operational spy gadgets straight out of Q’s laboratory in the movie masterpiece – think an ejector seat, spinning number plates, a radar tracker display, tyre slashers, and a pair of front-mounted Browning machine guns to complete the authentic Bond experience.

A mere seven masterpieces have been crafted by Agora Models, a British model car kit company, ensuring exclusivity with each metallic beauty numbered from 001 to 007. Eager buyers can circle October 5 on their calendars known far and wide as James Bond Day when these gems will be up for grabs at £24,999 each.

James Franks, the co-founder of Agora Models, gushed to the PA news agency about this venture: “We wanted to celebrate the 60th-anniversary movie with a very special model.”

Eager to bring his dream to the hands of aficionados, he shared, “We took the DB5 from our range and created this ultra-luxury model kit, which is something as founder I’ve always wanted to do, make something really special.”

These mini automobile treasures pack a hefty weight of around 7kg, with dimensions stretching to 569mm by 211mm by 173mm, available for purchase either as finished models or DIY assembly kits.

Clare Foltynie, also at the helm of Agora Models, expressed to PA that crafting these limited-edition beauties has been akin to making a dream a reality.

“It’s just a dream come true to have such a beautiful luxury edition of this stunning, iconic vehicle, something that we’ve always dreamed of doing, and to be here in all the glitz and the glamour and enjoying all the sparkle and the celebrations that revolve around this brand is just an absolute dream come true,” she gushed.

Brimming with pride, she highlighted how the team at Agora Models are “proud” of the model, emphasizing their commitment to getting every detail “absolutely perfect”.

“We put a great deal of effort into making sure that every detail is absolutely perfect,” she declared.

With a nostalgic twinkle, she recalled, “The green colour on the cables, the detailing of the dashboard, and of course, we all remember sitting watching the movie with our dads in the 1960s and 1970s and just enjoying the moment Bond deployed all of those gadgets.”

In a tribute to the iconic spy, the founder expressed that having only seven models felt like the “best and the most appropriate number of luxury edition kits to be making of this model” to salute James Bond’s 007 codename.

Created in league with 007 filmmakers and Eon Productions, the tantalising model will hit the shelves on agoramodels.co.uk from October 5.
