The Princess of Wales died in the early hours of August 31, 1997 after a horror car crash in a tunnel in Paris.

Her partner Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul were killed while Dodi’s bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, was the only survivor.

In his new book On Leadership, Mr Blair added: “The conspiracy theories about Princess Diana’s death also exemplify the belief some people have in the existence of the deep state – a belief that generates a whole encyclopedia of paranoia of its own.”
