The UFC star was in attendance alongside a host of big names that caught a glimpse of the record breaking event, throughout the fight he could be seen jumping up and with his hands on his head, seemingly in disbelief at the destructive performance that IBF champion Dubois displayed.

Speaking to the Stomping Ground, a visibly excited McGregor, explained: “AJ is number one. This is his eighth stadium show. He’s a legend forever.”

When questioned on AJ’s future in the sport, McGregor dismissed any talk of retirement, he said: “For sure there is, he had him, he smacked him back, he stood his ground but then went forward and got clocked. It’s only boxing. You get clocked you can catch someone. Of course he can come back for sure.”

Earlier in the night, the former UFC double champ, gave an update on his own future when speaking to DAZN in the bowel’s of the national stadium, donning a signature flamboyant as he made his way to ringside, he said: “It’ll be 2025…we’ll see. My opponent I had scheduled has got rematched.

“It is what it is…my job is to go to the gym; be in shape. One thing is for sure…I’ll be 100% ready.”

The Irishman has not fought since his defeat to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, in which McGregor sustained a horrific leg break.

Since then, he has had a bout reportedly agreed with American Michael Chandler but this was postponed due to McGregor suffering a broken toe in training camp.
