How to spice up possibilities of successful lottery – numbers to keep away from and customary mistake

We all fantasise about hitting the jackpot even if we don’t play the lottery. Picture the lavish holidays, swanky cars and dream homes you could afford if you struck it rich.

However, there are certain numbers you should steer clear of if you’re serious about winning, as they’ve historically been picked the least. TikTok user @makeitshinemoney has shared her top tips for increasing your chances of bagging the big prize.

One common mistake people make is basing their choice of number on dates that are significant to them, but the savvy lottery expert said this is a bad strategy. “Avoid numbers that are related to dates like your birthday and anniversary,” she said.

“These numbers fall between 1 and 31, so even though the probability of the number being selected is the same if you play numbers above 31, it may increase the chance of you not having to share the prize with other players.”

Research by BoyleSports also revealed you should avoid the numbers 30, 6, 21, 48, 43 and 18 if you’re hoping for a win. These have been the least frequently-chosen lottery numbers since October 2015.

@makeitshinemoney also recommends playing “less popular” lottery games, despite the fact that the “prize amount is probably lower” but your odds of winning will be higher.

Her third tip was to “study the most popular drawn numbers”, which according to BoyleSports are 37, 52, 58, 39, 42, and 27.

She then advised: “Go and buy a lottery ticket,” but only if you’ve heeded her advice. In the comments, one user noted: “Probabilities are skewed towards a certain distribution. It is not a normal distribution. There are skews.”

Another savvy social media user suggested “investing money” rather than splurging on lottery dreams.
