Meta boss Nick Clegg is urging us to hug the psycho scumbag robots experts warn will rob our jobs and terminate humanity.
The former deputy PM slammed the UK for focusing on the potentially deadly downsides of artificial intelligence instead of cheering on the ever-developing technology.
He said it was an “odd choice” for ex-PM Rishi Sunak to hold a summit in November focusing on AI safety instead of exploring the potential of the tech to improve people’s lives.

Mr Clegg – who is president of global affairs at Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta – said: “I think we wasted a huge amount of time going down blind alleys, assuming that this technology was going to eliminate humanity and we’re all going to be zapped by a robot with glowing red eyes.”
Meta is one of the world’s biggest AI pioneers. Mr Clegg added he “broadly agreed” with the argument being pushed by former Labour PM Sir Tony Blair that AI holds the power to improve public services, battle government waste and boost the economy.
He spoke out as Meta announced it’s set to start training its new AI model in the UK and Brazil – as EU regulation is too tight to unleash it in the bloc.
The former Lib Dem leader said: “This is good news for innovation in both countries – it means we can bring our AI at Meta products to both the UK and Brazil much sooner, and that our generative AI models will understand local culture, history and idiom.”
