Moment drug supplier leaps from upstairs window and jumps over fence

A blundering drug dealer leaped from an upstairs window then bounded over a fence to escape from police – without realising he was being watched by a drone.

Fugitive Sambou Kassama, 27, was seen by eye-in-the sky officers who saw him try to hide in a neighbours’ garden in Ely, Cardiff.

Kassama’s athletic escape efforts were in vain – and he was arrested and has now been jailed.

Police have since released footage of Kassama’s arrest after they raided his home only for him to jump from the back bedroom window.

He admitted possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and possession of Class B drugs.

Kassama was jailed for four years and four months at Cardiff Crown Court.

Speaking after the sentence, a South Wales Police spokesperson said: ‘We have a zero tolerance approach to drug dealing and this is just one example of the work we are doing’. In this image – taken by a drone – police officers can be seen in the garden where Kassama tried to escape

Speaking after the sentence, a South Wales Police spokesperson said: ‘We have a zero tolerance approach to drug dealing and this is just one example of the work we are doing.

‘We will not tolerate drugs in our communities, and we are constantly targeting those who are thought to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

‘We can, and regularly do, act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming and continue to work with us.’
