New Apple+ documentary will discover how The Beatles cracked America

A new documentary focusing on how  The Beatles cracked America is coming to Apple+.

The British rock band – which consisted of Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon and George Harrison – took the US by storm after a televised concert pulled in 73 million viewers.

The majority of their releases across the pond hit the top spot on the charts, and now insiders have claimed that a new doc will explore how they Hey Jude hitmakers ‘paved the way’ for other successful acts from the UK.  

A source told The Sun: ‘Apple TV+ have a documentary coming out which looks back at their rise — and how the band paved the way for acts like the Rolling Stones when it came to making it big in America. 

‘Beatlemania was crazy in the UK, but the Americans gave our fans a run for their money.

‘People will remember the hysteria that took over the US when The Beatles arrived, and the incredible scenes where thousands of teenagers turned up to see them wherever they went.’

The Let It Be singers are generally considered to be one of the few English acts to have found success in the US, a handful of others being the Spice Girls, Adele and Amy Winehouse

The insider explained to the outlet that the time explored in the documentary is simply a ‘moment in music history’ and described the new film as ‘must-see’ television.

It is thought that the new documentary will  launch over Thanksgiving weekend on November 28. 

The news comes shortly after it was revealed that Hollywood director  Sam Mendes is taking on the task of creating a biopic for each of the Fab Four.

A source said: Sam has a mammoth task on his hands, but Paul and Ringo trust him to do them justice.

‘The films will all be inter-connecting and will tell the story of the band from each of the group’s perspectives.

In 2021, Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson launched the eight-hour, three-part Disney+ series Beatles Get Back

Jackson, who served as director and producer, was given 60 hours of film footage and 150 hours of audio stemming from the original Let It Be film, which chronicled the making of the album of the same name that was released in May 1970
