The Premier League have slammed the lack of discipline in Nottingham Forest’s clash with Brighton.
Hot-headed Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo and Brighton chief Fabian Hurzeler got their marching orders for “unacceptable” antics during a heated draw at the Amex.
A fierce scrap on the south coast resulted in spoils being shared after a score draw. Chris Wood and Ramon Sosa hitting the back of the net for the visiting side, with Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck bagging Brighton’s replies.

But the clash nearly erupted towards the end when Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White got his marching orders for a second bookable offence following a bust-up with Joao Pedro, triggering red mist from both dugouts.
The official Premier League Match Centre chirped up on social media saying: “The referee issued a second yellow card to Gibbs-White for a reckless challenge on Pedro. Fabian Hurzeler and Nuno Espirito Santo were both sent off for their unacceptable technical area behaviour following the incident.”
“I would have to see the challenge back, I have not seen it,” admitted Forest hero Wood when quizzed by Sky Sports. “It is one of those, Morgan has made a rash decision and we have to move on with that,” reports the Mirror.
“The managers will have to come and comment on that, that is what they do. Everyone wants to win and fight in the Premier League and points are hard to come by.”
Brighton’s first team coach Andrew Crofts revealed Joao Pedro “took a nasty hit”. The star was spotted wincing around the pitch late on, after barely 10 minutes of action before being chopped down by Gibbs-White.
“The tackle on Joao looked like it wasn’t a great tackle,” noted Crofts. “We were upset with it. The reaction is to see what the referee does. I didn’t see it because I was communicating with a player. Next thing I saw the red cards to the managers.”
