Mum who died after BBL was handled at UK clinic ran by ‘Lip King’

A mother-of-five who died after having a non-surgical BBL procedure was treated at a UK clinic run by a glamorous beautician and a TV star dubbed the ‘Lip King’, MailOnline can reveal.

Alice Webb, 34, died on Monday, just hours after having the procedure which is thought to have involved the injection of chemical fillers.

It is understood that the procedure was carried out at The Studio 23 clinic in Gloucester, which is run by beautician Jemma Pawlyszyn and Jordan James Parke, 32, dubbed the ‘British Lip King’.

It is the first time a person has died in the UK from the procedure and comes after campaign group Save Face called for tighter controls in the cosmetic market warning that ‘people could die’.

Mr Parke, who describes himself on social media as ‘The Plastic Surgery Advocate’, is not a qualified surgeon and provides treatment from a clinic in Gloucester.

The Kim Kardashian fanatic appeared on US reality TV series Botched in 2015, but he was turned away when he returned to the show in 2019 as doctors revealed a fourth nose job would have involved taking a piece of his rib to widen his nostrils.

Parke, who has had major work done on his face, now has a private Instagram profile but it also links to another page called The Lip King Aesthetics.

He also works in Manchester, Bristol and the West Midlands. Alice is understood to have had the procedure in Gloucester, which is just a few miles from her home in Wotton-under-Edge.

The treatment is designed to make buttocks bigger, more rounded or lifted and sees fat or dermal filler injected into the buttocks to change size or shape.

While non-surgical BBLs are not illegal in the UK, last year Wolverhampton City Council barred a company from carrying out the procedure after identifying risks associated with their processes, including blood clots, sepsis, and the potential for the death of body tissues.

Parke is a Kim Kardashian fan who has spent more than £130,000 on cosmetic surgery and has appeared on TV to discuss his obsession on This Morning and Channel 4 Bodyshockers.

He has had at least four nose jobs and 50 other procedures and once said: ‘Plastic surgery is like sex. You can’t have it once. You have to have it over and over.’

When he set up his business in 2017, he revealed that he would specialise in lip and cheek fillers and enhancements, as well as chemical peels and vampire facials – one of Kim’s favourite procedures.

Yesterday evening, Alice’s partner Dane Knight asked people not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding her death and to be mindful around her five daughters, who are ‘extremely vulnerable’ at this time.

In an emotional post on Facebook he wrote: ‘Want to say a heart felt thank you to all family and friends that were here for us at our time of need, including all of the kind messages sent to my children and myself.

‘There was some very beautiful messages sent by some of your children that formed a start of a smile from the corner of my kids mouth.

‘I feel this is important saying this as I will not accept speculations from adults being accidentally being eaves dropped by children and unnecessary questions raised to the 5 girls, so be extremely careful on what you say and who’s around! My children are extremely vulnerable!’

Alice was an advanced aesthetic practitioner at Crystal Clear in Wotton-under-Edge, a market town in Gloucestershire.

A GoFundMe page set up by her pal Abigail Irwin revealed the tragedy. It said: ‘I am hoping to raise as many funds as we can to support Dane, the partner of Alice and their five beautiful children at this very difficult sad time.

‘Alice passed away Monday evening after having the BBL treatment.’

‘Alice joined the beauty & Aesthetics industry two years ago and she has been smashing it, doing amazing.

‘She cared about her clients, she would always check in to see if they were OK, Alice was a beautiful person inside and out and I feel very lucky to have known her and to have spent time with her in our salon.

‘Alice would ask for advice all the time and ask to check if there was anything more she could do to improve her skills but she was just a pure natural and never needed my help but always wanting to be the best at her job and that she was.

‘Alice has passed away at a young age of 34. Alice was beautiful inside and out with the biggest heart, her family was her world she is leaving behind her partner Dane & 5 beautiful children.

‘Delsie 15, Preete 13, Gracie 12, Nylie 10, Clarie 7 as you can imagine this is a very difficult heart breaking time for them all so if we can all help donate or share to help take of some financial stress it would be really appreciated by the family.’

The night before Alice’s sudden death, she posted a photo on Facebook of a small pumpkin, which she said was a ‘present’ from her daughter. She added: ‘How cute.’

In the comments, she shared a second photo of the pumpkin, having been carved with a candle inside, and wrote: ‘My little lamp.’

Gloucestershire Police has confirmed it has made arrests and is investigating the death.

On Wednesday despite being asked repeatedly for comment Gloucestershire Police refused to give any further details.
