David Beckham has told Sir Jim Ratcliffe that Manchester United fans deserve to have a successful club again.
Appaearing on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, England and United legend Beckham admits supporters of his old club have had to wait too long when it comes to seeing regular trophies won.
Ratcliffe became co-owner of United at the start of 2024, and has set about the challenge of restructuring the football operations at Old Trafford. But despite huge investment in new signings and appointing numerous key figures to the board, United continue to struggle.

Manager Erik ten Hag is battling to save his job following the team’s woeful start to the new season. United are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table and have won just three games from 11 in all competitions.
Beckham admits he backs Ratcliffe to make United a powerhouse once again, but tells him the good times can’t come soon enough. Beckham said: “I think that it definitely needed change. Speaking as a United fan, I think that, many people had said that, the club needed change.
“It needed a fresh perspective in how this club needs to be run, and the decisions that are made.
“I really like Jim, you know, I’ve met him a few times over the years with a few mutual friends and I think that he’s a fan, and obviously he’s a great businessman as well, one of the best and one of the biggest. But I think more importantly the fans see that he cares, and I think that that’s a big part of it.
“I think obviously the fans had lost faith with the leadership over the years and obviously he really cares about, you know, what he wants to do and what he wants to create. So, hopefully, things will change, but these things take time.
“I think we have been quite patient as United fans over the years, but we want those good old days back. We want those days back, and the sooner the better.”
