Liam Payne’s former fiancee Maya Henry has broken her silence after his tragic death.

Since the devastating news broke, trolls have left vile comments under Instagram posts directed at his former partner, Maya Henry, after she spoke about their relationship in recent weeks.

Her representative told the Daily Mail: “Right now she is obviously in shock.”

Maya had instructed her legal team to send a cease and desist letter to Liam days before his death – after alleging that he was repeatedly contacting her and her loved ones.

The pair dated on and off for three years before calling it quits in May 2022.

Liam, 31, and Maya, 23, were first linked in 2018 before they first appeared together the following year. They were together on and off for three years and at one point in their romance, they were engaged.

They ended up isolating together a lot during the coronavirus pandemic and Liam later told People magazine that it strengthened his relationship with Texas-born Maya. “I think we went through a lot in Covid,” he said in March 2022. “I feel like we’ve come out the other side of it a bit stronger.”

However, the Strip That Down singer – who shares a seven-year-old son named Bear with his former flame Cheryl – had more recently been in a new relationship with influencer Kate Cassidy.

The pair made their red carpet debut together in December 2022, when they attended the British Fashion Awards together in London.

Liam previously opened up about balancing a relationship alongside his hectic music career, as he told Steven Bartlett on Diary of a CEO podcast in 2021: “I feel like more than anything at this point, I’m more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people. That annoys me.

“I’ve just not been very good at relationships. And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships at this point. I’m just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else.”
