The troubled popstar reportedly smashed his laptop in the lobby before having to be carried back to his hotel room, with witnesses saying they had seen him “behaving erratically” in the hotel lobby earlier that day.

As people across the world grapple with the premature death of one of the globe’s biggest pop stars, many fans have taken to one particular Instagram post to express their condolences.

Earlier this year, in a now haunting post, Liam shared the news of his latest release, Teardrops.

Two moody black and white photos were accompanied with a concise caption that read, “A new chapter. Link in bio”.

At the time, fans filled the comments section with adoration and praise, with one saying,”Oh, look at you! You look great. Don’t go away again”, while another wrote “he’s back.”

A third fan commented that “our king is back”, while another wrote that she was “excited for you”.

Now however, fans have returned to the comments section, aware of heartbreaking irony of the post.

“Teardrops… are falling,” one devastated fan wrote, while another noted that the new chapter was in fact “the final chapter”.

A third fan wrote: “I guess the chapter ended.”

The singer reveals his inner turmoil in his final single, the chorus of which goes, “Teardrops are falling down your face again because I don’t know how to love you when I am broken”.

In July, Liam reportedly checked into The Priory to clean himself up, however he checked out of the rehab centre after only 48 hours.

Reports suggest that Liam’s decision left his close friends and family devastated as he gave up a chance of “overcoming his addictions.”

The singer had previously been open about his struggles and had confided in TV personality Paddy McGuinness about his sobriety. However, despite his desire to get his life back on track, it seems he struggled.
