Police are understood to be looking into the possibility Liam Payne was supplied drugs by staff at the CasaSur Hotel prior to his death.
The former One Direction singer died after falling 45ft from a balcony in Buenos Aires on Wednesday (October 16). Argentinian police are looking into how traces of power ended up in Payne’s hotel room just 24 hours after being told by a doctor he was clean, with The Sun reporting it’s possible they were picked up from a neighbourhood 15 miles away.
Payne’s cause of death is thought to have been internal and external bleeding, although a full autopsy has not yet been delivered. Now, the publication claims officers are looking into the possibility that two members of staff, one a cleaner, at the CasaSur Palermo could have been involved in the provision of the narcotics.

It claims they hid the drugs in a Dove soap box, visible in images from dad-of-one Payne’s room. The same outlet was told by a friend of the star that he had just 24 hours prior been given the all-clear ahead of an intended plan to return to the US on Friday (October 18).
The same source claimed Payne had “tried really hard to get clean” and had entered Argentina with the intention of reapplying for his US visa.
The source is reported to have claimed that US authorities flagged his relationship with drugs and said he needed to take a test before re-entering the country.
He collected a clean set of results on Tuesday from a US-embassy-approved doctor, they added, reportedly claiming: “When he checked in at the hotel, at some point someone there started giving him drugs.”
It has also been claimed by the source that they didn’t know what or how much he bought.
