Millionaire ‘mummy’s boy’ takes ‘cocktail of gear’, knifes mum to loss of life

An affluent man has killed his doting mum with a kitchen knife after consuming a ‘cocktail’ of drugs.

Life of the party and loving mother Tina Bauld was brutally slayed by her only child, Gregor. As the mum was about to take the dog for a walk on March 3, the 23-year-old came at her, brandishing a kitchen knife with a foot-long blade.

She screamed: “He’s got a knife, he’s got a knife,” as her son chased her out of their £1million home in Burbage, Leicestershire, across the driveway and onto the road.

Gregor then stabbed her multiple times, including dealing a fatal swipe to her back as she crouched on the ground. The 55-year-old died while being cradled by her husband, Gregor’s father, Tom, reports MailOnline. Gregor was arrested without putting up a struggle, telling police baseless the claim that Tina was a ‘paedophile’ and that ‘she deserved it.’

A two-week trial at Leicester Crown Court revealed Gregor, described as a ‘mummy’s boy,’ had taken a potent mix of LSD, ketamine and cannabis. His drug-taking habit had begun when he was in school, and his father had taken a bag of drugs from his son just a few days prior to the attack.

The prosecution reasoned Gregor was driven to kill him mum as a result of his drug use and had been left enraged after his parents took away the substances. Tom, a wealthy company executive, told the court his son “is dead to me now.”

Gregor admitted to killing his mum, but denied murdering her on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He said he has no memory of the incident and believes he had gone ‘insane.’

The defence argued Gregor suffered from schizophrenia, and while the prosecution didn’t dispute the diagnosis, they argued he was driven to murder by drugs or anger.

Gregor had previously threatened to kill his mum. In 2021, Tom and Tina had to hide in the kitchen and call the police as Gregor issued threats against Tina’s life, claiming she was an alien and that he was going to kill her. Following this incident, he was sectioned after suffering psychosis. He tried to commit suicide twice aged 16.

The jury cleared Gregor of murder after three days of deliberation, and he will be sentenced for manslaughter next month.
