Angry mob digs up and burns physique of ‘satanic’ mom who beheaded son

An angry mob dug up and burned the body of a twisted mother who beheaded her 6-year-old son in a ‘satanic’ ritual in Brazil.

Authorities in the northeastern city of João Pessao said locals on Saturday uncovered the cemetery grave where Maria Mendes was buried.

The group opened the 26-year-old woman’s coffin, removed her body and set it on fire, the Pernambuco Civil Police said.

No arrests had been reported as of Monday.

Mendes stabbed and decapitated her son, Miguel Alves, at her apartment during the early hours of September 20.

The Paraiba Military Police responded to an emergency call from neighbors after hearing the defenseless boy screaming for help and walked into the gruesome scene of Mendes sitting on a chair with Alves’ head on her lap.

Mendes was confronted by the cops and tried to attack them with a knife before she was shot 14 times.

The mother survived the shooting and was rushed to a local hospital. While there she developed an infection related to her wounds and died Thursday.

While it remains unclear why Mendes killed her own son, authorities found several videos in her cellphone that contained satanic decapitation rituals.

Authorities searched the home and found their pet cat in pain in one of the two bedrooms.

Neighbors told police that Mendes and Alves had moved into the home in August, but not much was known about her.

Paraiba Civil Police chief Luísa Correia told Brazilian news outlet G1 that case was archived, and declined to comment further.
