A man remains missing after two individuals, who are believed to have been paddleboarding, fell into a reservoir.
Divers have been searching overnight for Simon Daniels, who was named online by friends, after he fell into the water at Dovestone Reservoir near Oldham on Sunday.
Police, fire crews, and paramedics responded to the incident, which occurred at the beauty spot around 2.30pm yesterday.
A woman, who also fell into the water, was rescued and then treated by paramedics, according to Greater Manchester Police.
A search operation is underway, with specialist divers, the coastguard, and mountain rescue teams attending the scene.
In a statement shared to X (formerly Twitter) yesterday evening, Greater Manchester Police confirmed searches would continue into the night.

‘We are not stopping our search and are doing everything we can to locate the missing man,’ the force said.
In their most recent update, they urged the public to stay away from the scene as they continued the search.
They said: ‘Officers were in attendance at Dovestone Reservoir until late last night to search for a man who had gone into the water earlier in the afternoon.
‘Specialist teams will make further assessments this morning as they continue their search, utilising all the appropriate resources available.
‘We would ask people to avoid the area as this work is carried out, and thank the public for their continued patience.’
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: ‘At shortly before 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday 20 October) fire crews were called to Dovestone Reservoir in Oldham following reports of a person in the water.
‘Two fire engines from Mossley and Stalybridge, an enhanced rescue unit from Leigh, a water incident unit from Eccles, an air unit and two drones including an underwater drone from Lancashire Fire and Rescue were called to the scene.
‘A throw line was used by a member of the public and one casualty was rescued from the water prior to fire service arrival. Police helicopter, police, ambulance and mountain rescue also attended.
‘Fire service were in attendance for approximately four hours and forty minutes.’
