Christian Louboutins, Uggs and ‘huge chains’ banned at Teesside pub

Patrons at a Teesside pub have been hit with a controversial new dress code which will see a number of ‘designer’ fashion items banned from the premises.

The Wobbly Goblin, located in Stockton-on-Tees, introduced its strict new clothing policies on Sunday evening on its Facebook page.

In a comprehensive list, the Durham boozer banned a host of designer items such as Christian Louboutin’s, which can cost between £700 and £1,000 a pair, and even Ugg boots too.

Tattoos were also included, with head, neck and face tattoos all resulting in a refusal of entry for would-be customers.

Other prohibited fashion accessories included bubble trainers, big rings and chains and no flip flops.

With almost 500 comments to date under the pub’s original Facebook post, many patrons reacted angrily to the change in policy.

One person commented that she ‘used to go in here after work on a weekend a lot of years ago and the best part of the wobbly was the edgy people in there!’ Other users added ‘good look with that’ and ‘that’s hilarious’.

Another person said; ‘Can all our customers stop coming in please. Wouldn’t that have been easier to type?’

Multiple users took aim at the stipulation regarding tattoos in particular, with many labelling it ‘discrimination’.

One woman with a neck tattoo commented under the post; ‘Good luck staying open! Laughing my head off at the tattoo bit! I have a neck tattoo doesn’t make me a bad person, be glad to never come back with that attitude’.

Others questioned the validity of the list, insisting that something so ridiculous could not be real.

‘This has got to be a joke list. There is no way that a place like Wobbly would have such ridiculous rules for entry,’ wrote one user, while another added; ‘Clever marketing I’m hoping as you honestly can’t be serious.’

The other banned items of clothing included ‘big boss logos’, ‘gilet jackets’ and the placing of ‘big puffer jackets’ in the cloakroom.
