Revellers slam pub for banning head tattoos as they are saying it is like ‘North Korea’

Angry revellers slammed a boozer for banning head tattoos – moaning it was like living `in North Korea’.

Bosses of The Wobbly Goblin have issued a new dress code outlawing customers with head, face or neck inkings.

Also shown the door from the bar in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, are folks wearing `big’ Boss logos, Ugg boots, bubble trainers, gilets or Christian Louboutin shoes.

Drinkers donning `big rings and big chains’ will also not be allowed in.

The nine-point diktat published on the bar’s Facebook page has sparked fury from locals who said they `forgot they lived in North Korea’.

The dress code is quite the list but we agree on the UGG boots

Tattooed punters vowed never to return to the `discriminatory’ pub with some claiming they `hoped they’d go out of business’.

Others slammed the boozer for being `like an episode of the Jeremy Kyle show’ with one quipping it would be `easier saying nobody’s welcome’.

The dress code bars `head, neck or face tattoos, big boss logos, gilet jackets, bubble trainers, big rings / big chains, sliders / flip flops (have to be raised off floor), Christian Louboutins, Ugg boots / Ugg shoes’ and says `big puffers must be placed in cloakroom’.

The post on social media sparked outcry from punters

One customer wrote: “Good luck staying open! Laughing my head off at the tattoo bit! I have a neck tattoo doesn’t make me a bad person. I’ll be glad to never come back with that attitude.’’

Another commented: “I have small tattoos behind my ears and I totally agree it’s just body art. It’s 2024 they need to keep up with the times. I wonder if they will turn people away for being foreign or different colour skin. A dress code I can agree with to a certain extent but what they have put is beyond a joke.

“The Wobbly Goblin – Stockton, can’t see you lasting long with these strict rules and if I was a customer of yours I certainly wouldn’t be going back. Think you need to rethink your code as this will offend quite a lot of people.’’

One more wrote: “Bc discrimination isn’t cool, hope y’all go out of business.’’ Why no tattoos? Forgot I was living in North Korea,’’ said another. What in the dictatorship is going on?’’ asked one more.

Some said the bar – which is open until 4.30am on Friday and Saturday nights – was banning `most of Teeside’.

One wrote: “Think you’ve just lost half your customers going off the neck/face tattoos. Used to go in here after work on a weekend a lot of years ago and the best part of the Wobbly was the edgy people in there!’’

Another commented: “Hahaha well that’s most of Teesside good luck getting customers. How judgemental.”

“Be rest assured that if someone is wearing Christian Louboutins they’re not drinking in your establishment,’’ moaned one more.

Another commented: “Mate the wobbly The Wobbly Goblin – Stockton is like a episode of the Jeremy Kyle show good luck getting anyone drinking in there with a dress code like that.”
