Saudi Arabia may have Ballon d’Or winner by 2039, in response to a supercomputer

The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund are reportedly interested in buying another Premier League club.

And, according to AI, it could have knock on effects that leads to a Saudi Arabian winning the Ballon d’Or. The Independent are reporting Saudi backers could be lining up a bid for either Liverpool or Chelsea as their investment in football continues to skyrocket.

While their project at Newcastle has been somewhat successful, PIF has hit a brick wall when it comes to the top-flight’s strict rules regarding profit and sustainability casting doubt on their ability to bring major success to the North East.

Saudi have invested billions domestically with the hope of one day hosting a World Cup and producing world-renowned stars.

Assuming the funding by PIF and others is sustained, according to AI, the most optimistic scenario could see a Saudi player emerging as a potential Ballon d’Or candidate in 15 to 30 years.

This would require building and improving local football infrastructure, establishing world-class youth academies, and developing domestic competition by continuing to attract top international talent to Saudi leagues.

It would eventually lead to young Saudi talent, who would have grown up in this enhanced footballing environment, potentially gaining experience in top European leagues and international competitions.

Daily Star Sport crunched the number in a supercomputer – with 2039 emerging as the earliest year a Saudi star could conquer the world, according to AI.

They have already showcased their ability to attract top players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Karim Benzema whom youngsters are learning from.

Investment in a Premier League club also provides the perfect pathway for youth talent to flourish in a top European league, which could in turn result in a Ballon d’Or.

All of this is of course hypothetical and in reality, it would take at least a decade or two before it was to become a possibility. However, PIF’s mission is clear and they’re not willing to give up.
