There’s likely not many women out there as supportive of their husband as Paris Fury is of hers.
Even in one of her most harrowing moments of need, as she endured the pain of miscarrying at six months pregnant, the caring spouse decided not to tell her partner, Tyson Fury, for fear of upsetting him before his ‘fight of a lifetime’.
Speaking publicly for the first time about the heartbreaking ordeal on Wednesday, the heavyweight champion, 36, revealed how his wife of 16 years ‘kept the news to herself’.
On the eve of Tyson’s fight against Oleksandr Usyk in May, a stoic Paris selflessly endured the agony of having to ‘give birth to a dead child’ alone, so that the boxer could focus on his bout, which was held thousands of miles away in Saudi Arabia.
He ultimately lost the fight, relinquishing his WBC world heavyweight title to the Ukrainian boxer, before returning home to England and realising his worst fears had been confirmed.

‘When she said she couldn’t come over [to Riyadh], I knew there was a problem,’ Fury told the Mirror.
‘She usually comes out on fight week but she said she had high blood pressure’.
He added that [Saudi boxing chief] Turki Alalshikh offered to take them in a private jet and said he would bring the doctor with her.
‘She said she couldn’t come and I asked her what was up and asked her to tell me but she wouldn’t. So I knew, I knew there was a problem. I said to my brother, ‘She’s lost that baby’. She never told me she had lost the baby, but I knew.
Fury added that he ‘wasn’t making excuses’ but his wife had to ‘physically give birth to a dead child’ while he was in a foreign country.
‘I have been with the woman for longer than I wasn’t with her, so it is hard that I couldn’t be there with her in that time. When I got back I got the inevitable confirmation that it was gone but she kept it to herself.’
Fury, who was attending a press conference in London about his forthcoming rematch with Usyk in Riyadh later this year, appeared on the verge of tears as he confirmed that he and his wife had lost a little boy.
‘She lost [the baby] on the Friday of the fight, which was pretty s****y,’ he told reporters, before stressing that he wasn’t trying to make excuses for losing the bout.

However, the heavyweight boxer continued, the weight of Paris’ suffering was a heavy burden to bear.
When asked whether he and Paris, who share seven children, plan on having more babies, Tyson replied: ‘I don’t know if she’s back to normal on that. It takes a lot of getting over. But no more of this morbid stuff now because I’ll break down in tears.’
Fans have since praised Paris’ resilience in the face of her and Tyson’s ‘terrible’ tragedy on X, with one person writing: ‘This has absolutely broken my heart to pieces. It’s made me really sad.
‘Going through that on your own just so it doesn’t impact your husband’s performance in a fight is a next level showing of genuine love and bravery. Paris Fury is some woman.’
Another tweet read: ‘God bless Paris Fury. So sad to hear what she had to go through alone whilst Tyson fought Usyk. Also condolences to her, Tyson, and the Fury family on their loss. Heartbreaking to hear.’

But sadly, this isn’t the first time Paris has suffered a miscarriage without telling Tyson for fear of upsetting him before a fight.
Four years ago, she admitted keeping her miscarriage in 2018 a secret from her husband because he was due to make his long-awaited return to the boxing ring after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus.

During an appearance on This Morning, Paris recalled how she sat ‘crying alone’ in her car after she found out and had to ‘grin and bear it’ because she felt she had to ‘hold it all together’ ahead of Tyson’s big comeback fight.
She told then-hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: ‘It started a couple of days before a fight and it was very early on to him returning to the ring and it was early on but I had to keep it to myself…
‘I had to grin and bear it, I had to sit alone in the car, crying on my own… I’m trying to keep it together because I’m the glue of the home,’ she continued.
Paris learned of her miscarriage on the same day Tyson made his long-awaited comeback after three years out the ring against Sefer Seferi in June 2018, but did not tell her husband until after he had got his hand raised.
Four years prior to her miscarriage, Paris gave birth to a stillborn baby in 2014, when five months pregnant – and has said ‘it’s something I’ll never really get over’.
Marking Baby Loss Awareness Week on her Instagram account in 2021, Paris reached out to those who have gone through a similar situation, as she candidly shared how ‘lonely’ she felt after experiencing both miscarriage and a stillbirth.
‘Even from a young age I always knew I wanted a big family – it’s in my bloodline after all as my Granny had eight – and with every baby my confidence as a mum has increased, I’ve got a routine and I know what works for us,’ she wrote.

Sharing her own experience of miscarriage, she added: ‘I know from the outside people see our big family and assume we’ve never struggled to have children, but as it’s #BabyLossAwarenessWeek I wanted to share a little bit about our story as it hasn’t always been plain sailing.
‘Very sadly we lost two babies which was just devastating to both of us and my heart goes out to anyone who has suffered the same.’
Revealing how she shares more details about the couple’s loss in her upcoming memoir, Paris continued: ‘I write about this in Love & Fury and it’s something I’ll never really get over, but I was lucky I had Tyson and the rest of my family around to support me.
‘It can be a very lonely experience for a lot of people. Thinking of everyone affected this week xx.’
She also opened up about her devastating loss in 2014 in her book, Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson (2021),
According to The Mirror, Paris wrote: ‘Following some tests and scans, we received the devastating news that the baby’s heart had stopped beating. There was nothing the medical team could do.
‘A midwife then gently broke the news to me that, although the baby was no longer alive, its advanced development meant I had no other option but to proceed with a delivery.
‘Never in my life had I felt so scared and upset. All I’ll say is I’d hate any other woman to experience in their lifetime what I had to endure that day. It was crushing.’

She continued: ‘Tyson was distraught, but still managed to be my rock throughout, squeezing my hand, stroking my forehead, telling me over and over again how much he and the kids loved me.
‘We never spoke much about the baby. It had happened, and it had been horrendous, but we both agreed to try to move forward, and stay strong for the sake of the family.’

Discussing the terrifying birth in her new book, How Does She Do It? The Kids, Tyson & Me, Paris said she had never felt so fragile and helpless.
Paris explained: ‘It was clear Athena was having the fight of her life, and that any deterioration might cause her to slip away at any moment.’
Following being on a ventilator, medics believed Athena was stable and Paris, who had only just been able to hold her daughter again since giving birth went through her ‘worst nightmare’ just moments later.
She continued: ‘Suddenly she became pale, floppy and unresponsive and I could see she’d stopped breathing.
‘My blood ran cold and I let out a piercing scream ‘MY BABY’S DYING!’ I shouted as a nurse immediately hit the red emergency buzzer.’

Doctors quickly surrounded the little girl and resuscitated her after her heart completely stopped.
During the chaotic scene, the mother called husband Tyson, who had gone on a run, to get back as quickly as he could.
The heavy weight boxing champion arrived just in time to see the medical staff revive their daughter and reconnect her to the ventilator.
Thankfully, from that moment on, Athena’s condition dramatically improved. Paris said: ‘It was almost as though her heart had been reset, and was now ticking the way it should’.
Three days later, the couple were able to take Athena home for the first time.

The couple have had some difficult times in prior years, with the boxer struggling with depression, drugs and alcohol prior to his comeback.
He had became the king of the division when he dethroned Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in November 2015 – but had to surrender his belts amid problems in his private life.
In more than two years away from the ring, Fury ballooned up to 28st and used a cocktail of drink and drugs to stave off depression and suicidal thoughts.
A therapist helped him ‘get his life back on track’, while six months of gruelling training, dieting and ‘plenty of sex’ helped him lose the weight.
Despite having concerns over his wife’s health as he entered the ring in May, Fury still put in a fine performance as he went toe-to-toe with Usyk over 12 enthralling rounds.
In a back-and-forth contest, it was Usyk who got the nod after scoring a knockdown in the ninth round.
But Fury will get his shot at redemption in December when the pair meet again in a rematch, with Usyk’s three heavyweight belts all on the line.
