Football floor is promoting gigantic 18-inch sausage roll – however there’s one situation

Football fans have been left stunned at a football stadium with the sighting of a behemoth 18-inch sausage roll.

It left social media in a frenzy over who would dare to tackle the substantial snack. Twitter lit up after Peter Hyam shared a snap of the whopping great pastry sitting snugly in a warmer, revealing the surprising sight he encountered.

The photo featured three of these massive munchies with “not one has been sold,” observed footie follower Peter, fresh from visiting the grounds where this meaty marvel was up for grabs.

The monolithic meat feast, captured at Portsmouth F.C.’s Fratton Park, caused a stir among tweeters who debated if this eye-popper was worth its £11 price tag.

Despite its size – towering over the conventional 6-inch sausage roll priced at £4.80—some have snidely called it “annoying” and a harbinger of outlandish foods popping up in stadiums worldwide.

Peter’s post on Twitter read: “18 inch sausage roll at Fratton Park. £11. Reliably informed, not one has been sold. For reference a normal 6 inch sausage roll Is £4.80.”

Discussions peaked as fans pondered why such a colossal creation was necessary, with suggestions that the stadium should slice it into typical portions. One suggested: “Why does it need to be so big? Cut it in half and sell each half for £3.50 each, all of a sudden it’s not too bad.”

Another joked: “We need a price per inch survey on sausage rolls.” But many were left scratching their heads, especially in the face of rival, budget-friendly eateries around the arena.

Footie fans are having a field day on social media, kicking off over the cost of the mega food item. One punter blasted: “Fratton Park literally has a McDonalds next door (not to mention loads of burger vans outside) so you would think they would charge more competitive prices.”

The price of a sausage roll really got under another fan’s skin as he snapped “it was a ‘s**t idea’ that wouldn’t sell.” “Nobody will pay £11 for what is essentially just 2 sausage rolls someone couldn’t be a***d to cut,” the peeved supporter scoffed.

And the talk around the turnstiles doesn’t stop there; some folks reckon this oversized snack trend is just “annoying” and messing with their half-time treats.

@SPFLWatch didn’t miss a beat, chipping in with a tweet saying, “The increased prevalence of impractical scran is becoming really annoying. How does one go about eating this at your seat. You’d literally have to be Homer Simpson.”
