A mother of the bride has raised eyebrows online after opting to wear a glamorous thigh-high split dress to her daughter’s wedding – with many accusing her of ‘upstaging’ the newlywed on her big day.
The woman, from Sydney, Australia, is captured posing up a storm in a TikTok video posted on 21 October by her hairstylist Veronica, also known as @vdhair on the social app.
Instead of opting for typical understated attire traditionally worn by mothers of the bride, the woman embraced a look that could only be described as ‘bombshell.’
The scene-stealing mother of the bride can be seen strutting confidently in her front garden to show off the stunning olive-green dress, custom made by haute couture designer, Georgina Marie.
In one scene from the clip, the woman flashes her thigh and dangles her leg outwards to showcase the dress’ daring split.

Meanwhile, the upper half of the dress features a strapless, pointed neckline, as well as sculpted, layered material cinched in at the waistline, further complimenting the woman’s incredible figure.
The mother of the bride completed the look with a stylish updo, soft-glam make-up, a gold bracelet and open-toe jewelled heels.
The bride, meanwhile, stunned in a breathtaking white princess dress with a sweetheart neckline and lace sleeves.
The video – captioned “Bombshell mother of the bride” – has since amassed over 2M views, and has highlighted the fine line between the mothers of brides expressing personal style and respecting wedding traditions.
While some celebrated the woman’s confidence and fashion taste, others argued that the bride should be the centre of attention.
