WWE icon Ric Flair hit with new household tragedy after ‘sudden loss of life’

WWE icon Ric Flair has been hit with a family tragedy after his stepson Sebastian died suddenly at the age of just 24.

The 75-year-old wrestling megastar and beloved ‘Nature Boy’ married his fifth wife Wendy Barlow in 2018, becoming step dad to her son Sebastian. The couple split just last month.

The wrestling community learned of aspiring musician Sebastian’s death after he was discovered in Georgia on Saturday afternoon; authorities have since launched a probe into the sudden passing.

Wendy Barlow paid tribute to Sebastian, telling TMZ: “I am devastated and shocked. This is an epidemic with your young men. And mental health.”

Taking to Instagram, she expressed her sorrow further, posting: “There are no words to express the pain I am feeling from the loss of my Baby @sebastianonthemic. Mommy Loves you.”

Ric Flair, who recently separated from Wendy, previously praised Sebastian publicly for dropping his debut album, saying, “Congratulations On The Release Of Your First Album- Under The Moon! I Am So Proud Of You! WOOOOO! Available On All Streaming Platforms! ” Sebastian’s life entwined with the wrestling superstar and he once disclosed the impact of fame and Flair’s influence on managing the spotlight. He recollected how adoring fans frequently approached them, especially seeking autographs from his renowned stepdad, reports the Mirror.

Ric has previously faced tragedy in the family after the death of his son – and fellow wrestler – Reid back in 2013. Reid was found dead in bed at the age of just 25 after overdosing on heroin and prescription medication.

Flair divulged not long ago that he and Wendy had parted ways after a six-year marriage. The 16-time WWE champion and Hall of Famer said: “Wendy and I enjoyed 13 great years. As with every couple, we have experienced our ups and downs. [But] I think it’s important for everyone to know right now that we have decided to part ways respectfully.

“I’ll never be able to thank her enough for standing by my side through my terrible health crisis in 2018. She never left my side! And for that I will always be grateful!

“We both are working on different projects at the current time and it becomes difficult with my schedule and her schedule to make this work. I wish her the best of luck with her projects and I know that she supports mine.”
