Pink cocaine ‘will not improve your intercourse life’ although the cartel says ‘it can’

Don’t believe everything drug pushers tell you – a medical professional has just debunked the myth that ‘pink cocaine’ acts as a sexual performance enhancer.

Definitely not your average cocaine, ‘pink cocaine’ is a potent blend of drugs including the likes of MDMA, ketamine, and the mind-bending 2-CB. Although at the moment it’s rare you’ll come face-to-face with the substance at a UK rave, it is wildly popular over in South America. Dubbed the “ultimate party drug”, this concoction has seen a surge in demand over recent years, fuelled by its reputation peddled by dodgy dealers as “sex cocaine”, hinting at its alleged libido-boosting effects during intimate moments.

This dubious mix hit headlines worldwide earlier this week when preliminary autopsy results disclosed that former One Direction star Liam Payne had traces of ‘pink cocaine’ in his body at the time of his heartbreaking death.

“Besides the high it’s illicitly marketed as also enhancing sexual performance,” author and drug cartel specialist Dr. Robert Bunker told the Daily Star. “It’s used by basically young and dumb party and rave-goers in many urban areas, and has that ‘gonna make the party better’ type of vibe going.”

So – does pink cocaine make you better in bed? Apparently not, said medical expert at Help and Advice Dr. Lawrence Cunningham. “In terms of the drug enhancing sexual performance, I am very doubtful,” he said. “Scientifically, there’s no solid evidence that pink cocaine improves sexual performance.”

Bad news, then, for those holding out for the illicit concoction to spark some flames in the bedroom. And poor research – or dodgy marketing – by the cartel who are peddling pink cocaine in countries like Colombia and Argentina.

Cunningham added: “In fact, many of the substances that might be in these mixtures can have adverse effects on sexual function. For example, stimulants can increase heart rate and anxiety, which might initially be mistaken for increased libido, but they can actually lead to performance issues.

“When I have encountered similar myths in my work, I always recommend approaching them with a healthy dose of scepticism.”

The Daily Star man Tom McGhie thought thought he’d have a go at seeing how easy it was for the average Brit to have a crack at buying it, of course without actually physically receiving the drug itself. In an experiment on Wednesday night, he mined several contacts, but ultimately came up short on the ‘pink cocaine’ front.

The first person US reporter Tom texted wasn’t interested in his requests, but there was a bit more of a lead with the second one.

Despite not having pink cocaine and instead offering “premium C” at “80 each”, this second drug dealer offered an amenable tone and seemed genuinely keen to assist in the mission. “Guessing it’s hard to get,” he wrote. “I’ll ask around, if anything pops up will let u know.”
