  • Former first lady’s memoir was released on October 8

Melania Trump today pulled back the curtains of Trump Word and revealed the impact of her shock pro-abortion stance on husband Donald.

The former First Lady gave a glimpse behind the scenes as she made a rare live televised appearance on Fox & Friends with exactly one week until Election Day.

She laid bare the details of her decision to publicly announce her bombshell position on abortion, which she unveiled recently in her memoir ‘Melania’.

The book was published on October 8 and included a passionate defense of abortion rights.

It was the first time Melania has been seen as out of step with the party her husband is leading on a political issue.

A member of Fox’s live studio audience asked her how she had dropped the ‘little pro-choice bombshell on the president in the middle of his fight for his career’ – and how he responded to it.

In response to the potentially awkward question, Melania divulged: ‘My husband knew my position, my belief, since the day we met.’

The former First Lady and model rarely expresses her own political views, but she weighed in after abortion became a central issue in the 2024 race.

After former President Trump appointed three Supreme Court Justices during his first term in office, the resulting six to three conservative majority reversed Roe v. Wade in June 2022.

That stripped federal protections for abortion rights and sent the issue back to individual states top decide.

Donald Trump maintains it should be up to those individual states to decide how to handle abortion and that it should not be a federal government issue.

The former First Lady urged viewers and Fox’s studio audience to read her book if they wanted to know more about how she feels about abortion and women’s rights.

Melania shocked MAGA fans by making surprise remarks on stage at her husband Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, October 27

In her book Melania wrote: ‘It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government.’

She continues: ‘Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.’

Melania adds that ‘restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life.’

Harris has made the issue a central plank of her campaign.

The former president said the issue had torn the country apart for more than 50 years, and that no one wanted it determined by the federal government.

He said: ‘I’ve taken this issue out of the federal government and put it back to the states where they’re voting.’

Trump has stated that he personally believes in abortion exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother.
