Stephen Mulhern turned beetroot-red on the latest episode of Deal or No Deal, after a contestant claimed she knew the gameshow host well.
Despite only joining the show on Monday, the show’s latest episode revealed that contestant Gemma would be the next player.
Getting comfortable on the hot seat the lass cheekily said: “I am Gemma, I’m 36, I’m from Newcastle.” She then dropped a bombshell, brazenly confronting Stephen by saying: “I thought you’d know a little more about us Stephen as we’ve met before, can you not remember that night we spent together? “

The flustered telly fave shot back: “What? I can tell you now… have we met? Are you serious, where? “. Gemma clarified: “You’ve been a host at a work event I’ve been to before, I was a little star-struck! ”
Stephen, 47, gathered his wit and fired back: “Was I any good?” with Gemma replying: “Yes, you were!”. The two then chatted about the magic tricks during the event as the audience laughed.
Gemma added: “You weren’t expecting that, were you?” with Stephen admitting: “No, I wasn’t but I like being surprised!”
Amidst the laughter and banter, an emotional moment bloomed when Gemma spoke lovingly of her family life, gushing over how she met her hubby at work and their joyous IVF baby miracle spawn, bringing her – and the crowd – near tears, proudly sharing: “I’m so proud of what we’ve built and worked towards! “, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Gemma kicked off “Deal or No Deal” with a bold move, turning down a whopper of an offer at £11,750 from the banker only to lose some of her high-value boxes shortly after.
But when the banker returned with an offer of £3,460, Gemma didn’t faff about and grasped the decent sum. She gratefully said: “It’s been an amazing opportunity, so thank you for being so lovely! ” while sending her love to the show team.
Turns out, Gemma was bang on the money; had she snubbed the second deal, she’d have ended up leaving with just £100!
On Twitter, “Deal or No Deal” aficionados were quick to weigh in tweets flying left, right and centre!
One user exclaimed: “A deal has been struck! ! ! Gemma will take home £3,460! ! ! #DealOrNoDeal”, while another mused: “Had Gemma not dealt, she would have ended up with just a puny £100. #DealOrNoDeal”. Another chimed in saying: “Gemma had £100 in her box, but dealt at £3,460! What a game! #dealornodeal.”
