A female teacher allegedly tried to lure a student and his friends to her hotel room even after she’d been charged with several sexual offences towards other pupils.
Police in Alberta, Canada, received a call from a concerned family member of a boy around 2pm Saturday (October 26). “This youth had been speaking to an unknown female, on a messaging application, who was attempting to lure the youth and his friends to her hotel room,” said a statement from authorities.
Following the investigation police arrested teacher Janelle Maisie Arnold, 35, and charged her with invitation to sexual touching, child luring and failure to comply with a release order.
And it wasn’t Arnold’s first offence – just last month the Duclos School educator was hit with other charges following allegations of inappropriate contact with a student, reports Western Standard.
Once again, law enforcement were made aware by disgusted parents, who informed officers the teacher allegedly sexually assaulted a student at the end of August. Following the shameful deed, Arnold is accused of then paying the teen money in an attempt to keep the incident from being disclosed.
Arnold was arrested on September 6 and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. Released upon certain conditions, she appears to have broken those with her latest alleged crimes.
Arnold was taken in by officials and remanded into custody following her alleged offences this weekend. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 7.
Earlier this month, a separate investigation was launched after a group of nine teachers allegedly had sexual interactions with minors at a juvenile prison in Canada.
According to local Canadian news outlet La Press, several incidents have taken place at the Cité-des-Prairies Youth Rehabilitation Centre in Montreal. It was claimed by two “informants” that nine on-site educators have been involved in “sexual misconduct” with at least five minors in their care, including a 15-year-old who impregnated a member of staff.
