INEOS’ Sir Dave Brailsford tells Man Utd followers ‘it is finished’ when requested about Ruben Amorim

INEOS’ Sir Dave Brailsford has seemingly confirmed Ruben Amorim is Manchester United bound.

The Red Devils’ Director of Football was spotted appearing to tell fans “It’s done” after United’s 5-2 victory over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening. In a video on social media, Brailsford had a quick chat with fans before dropping the bombshell.

There has been no official announcement from either the Red Devils or Sporting CP at this stage. And Amorim himself insisted that the deal is yet to be done after Sporting’s game on Tuesday.

“Nothing to say yet,” Amorim told Portuguese press. “No announcement to make. Now I have nothing to say, we are here carrying out analysis.

“Everything I say will only create more noise. There is nothing to say about the matter. There is the statement, everyone knows. It was said by the club.

“Besides, we don’t know the details for sure. We’ll see. It will go through my decision as the statement said. But saying half things now doesn’t seem best to me.”

Sporting believe he’s the next Red Devils boss, and Sky Sports News have revealed why United’s announcement is delayed.

Speaking on Sky Sports News Kaveh Solhekol said: “He’s got this 30 day notice period in this contract. So Sporting are well within their rights to say ‘you’re not going anywhere, your contract says you have to give us 30 days notice’.

“What is happening at the moment is United are having talks with Sporting about paying extra compensation to ensure that he can move straight away.

“Now that compensation is not just to get him to United immediately, it’s also to compensate Sporting for the fact Amorim wants to bring three coaches with him. The compensation being talked about is around €5million, thats what Sporting want…”
