Supermarket employee ‘baked to demise’ in oven as employees provide chilling ‘clarification’

A Walmart worker has offered a bone-chilling explanation after her 19-year-old colleague was horrifically “baked to death” in a walk-in oven.

Gursimran Kaur, hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, was tragically discovered deceased inside one of the retail giant’s ovens last week. In a bid to unravel the details of the killing, both current and ex-Walmart employees have been sharing insights into the bakery’s equipment, revealing the inner workings of the store’s baking area. TikTok user Chris Breezie, in a viral clip, detailed her experience with an oven at Walmart.

She noted that it could only be activated from the outside and that the door handle was exceptionally “really hard” to open. “I don’t even know if I would fit in here,” she commented. “I’m 5 foot 1, medium built. I would have to crouch down to get in.”

“I would never be in here, whether I’m cleaning it or not,” she insisted. The employee further explained that to secure the oven “you have to push [the latch] with all your might and pull the handle to the side and lock it in place”.

She concluded: “There is no way possible somebody could lock themselves in there.” In her video, Breezie suggested she thought Kaur had been forced into the oven by another individual. “Now, somebody could throw me in there and lock me in there, but that’s a whole different scenario,” she said, reports the Mirror US.

This theory was supported by another worker named Mary. “It doesn’t make any sense. This door does not close by itself… It doesn’t latch,” she explained in a separate TikTok Video. “It’s designed not to do that. You have to push it, hear the click.”

In the clip, Mary demonstrated the operation of the door, even highlighting the emergency latch on the side which, if pushed, would release the door. “I’m not trying to theorize or form a conspiracy, it’s just hard to wrap my head around it when Walmart’s bakery ovens are so safe to use,” Mary added. Her video has since gone viral, racking up more than 27 million views and triggering a flood of reactions from Walmart employees nationwide.

The police continue their investigation into the young woman’s tragic death, with the Walmart store remaining shut during this period. The authorities are still probing how the girl ended up trapped in the oven.

The Daily Mail managed to secure the dispatch call which disclosed that several colleagues were on site at the time of the incident. The call reported a “female employee locked in an oven in the bakery” and that the “oven is on [and] unsure if staff are able to turn it off”.

According to reports, it was none other than Kaur’s own mother who found her as she worked at the same store. Sources say she’s been left utterly traumatised by the ordeal. A fundraising effort on GoFundMe is currently underway to help the grieving family with funeral costs.

Walmart said in a statement: “We are heartbroken and our deepest thoughts are with our associate and their family. We extend our sincerest condolences to those who were closest to them. We’re also supporting our associates during this incredibly difficult time and have provided access to 24/7 virtual care and will provide on-site support, including grief counseling.”
