The Simpsons prophecy from 24 years in the past hints Kamala Harris ‘will win’ the White House

The prophets at The Simpsons seem to have done it again and this time they have foreseen the outcome of the US election.

In episode 17 of series 11, Lisa Simpson is seen in a vision of the future as the first female president of America talking about how the country is broke after President Trump. The Simpsons have a track record of ‘predicting’ the future in their episodes, and now fans believe they could be onto something once more.

A number of X, formerly Twitter, users pointed out the similarities between the episode which was broadcast in 2000, and prospective president, Kamala Harris. In the episode titled Bart to the Future, Lisa wears a purple suit virtually identical to the one the vice president wore during the 2021 inauguration.

In the plot, the Simpson family visit a Native American casino where Bart, too young to enter at just 10 years old, is shown a glimpse into the future, three decades ahead.

Lisa becomes president, seen sporting the iconic purple pantsuit, while the rest of the family adjust to life in the White House.

Adding to the string of coincidences, Lisa’s presidency follows an implied term from Donald Trump, which resulted in a significant deficit.

In her presidential role in the episode, Lisa states: “As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump.”

And now, numerous X users are pondering if reality will mirror the long-standing Fox cartoon’s storyline.

One wrote: “Well according to the Simpsons Kamala Harris is going to win.” Another user said: “Please Simpsons let this prophecy come true.” While a third added: “This confirms the Simpsons are time travellers if Kamala Harris wins the election.”

And a fourth wondered whether Kamala knew what she was doing all along: “#SimpsonsProphecies Or was Kamala having a private joke?”

The last user might’ve been onto something about the Kamala/Simpsons connection, however, as series creator Matt Groening recently shared a clip of the presidential candidate reading a quote from the Treehouse of Horror VII episode at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

In that particular episode Bill Clinton has had his body taken over by an alien, and makes some slightly unhinged pledges to the public.

Slightly adapting the lines, Kamala said: “Our country should move forward, not backward. Upward not forward. And always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.”
