Several top clubs are reportedly keeping tabs on Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr, amid uncertainty about his future.

The Brazilian, 24, was caught in controversy this week after he missed out on winning the Ballon d’Or.

Vinicius had expected to lift the gong, but Man City‘s Rodri edged him out, leading to a furious reaction from the forward and Real.

The club – who had believed that he was going to win the award – subsequently refused to attend the ceremony and hit out at the organisers, claiming the snub was due to a ‘lack of respect’ for Real, while the Brazilian took to social media to say: ‘I will do it 10 times if I have to. They’re not ready.’

Vinicius is under contract until 2027 at the Bernabeu, although Relevo reported on Thursday how he recently turned down the chance to enter into negotiations over a new deal.

But, he has endured a tough week after he missed out on the Ballon d’Or to Man City’s Rodri

And now, in a fresh report from the Spanish outlet, the slight uncertainty over his future has piqued the interest of several clubs including PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea, while the summer interest in him from the Middle East remains.

The report claims that although PSG are not in active discussions, they are particularly interested in Vinicius given the recent rivalry between the teams.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is said to have a difficult relationship with his Real counterpart Florentino Perez and the French giants are reportedly keen to hit back after the way that Kylian Mbappe moved to the Bernabeu in the summer.

In fact, the report insists Real are desperate to avoid an ‘Mbappe situation’, where Vinicius – who has a release clause of €1billion (£843.98million) – would leave on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

The club did outline their intention to extend Vinicius’ contract a few months back, which they believed was important to demonstrate how much they value the 24-year-old.

This is similarly felt by Vinicius, who moved to the Spanish capital from Flamengo in his homeland when he was just 18, with the forward appreciative of all that has been done for him.

Meanwhile, in August, according to ge.globo.com, a proposal from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund for Vinicius to join Al-Ahli was delivered to his representatives.

The offer was said to be worth €1bn (£843.98m) over five years – with the proposed annual salary 13 times higher than what Vinicius is currently earning at the Bernabeu.

PIF were looking to persuade Vinicius to become the face of the league ahead of the 2034 World Cup, which is set to be hosted by Saudi Arabia – and this offer is believed to still be on the table, with Saudi officials not intending to let up in their efforts to sign Vinicius.

Yet, Real are desperate to keep Vinicius and talks are expected to resume soon.

It is claimed that Vinicius could use the overtures from Saudi Arabia to strengthen his hand in negotiations, although this may have slightly been weakened by his failure to win the Ballon d’Or.

Vinicius has scored eight times and added seven assists in just 15 games so far this season, although Real currently languish six points behind Barcelona in LaLiga.

They return to action on Tuesday when they travel to take on AC Milan in the Champions League.
