Teacher who ‘had intercourse with in-need boy in her workplace’ charged ‘£14,000 for tuition’

A “perverted” female teacher accused of having sex with a boy “who needed her help” in her office charged £14,000 a year for her tutoring services – she now faces up to 15 years behind bars after she “continued to pursue the affair even when he broke up with her”.

Emily Nutley, a former teacher and academic supervisor at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been accused of having a relationship with a 17-year-old male student. She’s now been charged with six counts of sexual battery in relation to the pupil who was assigned to her academic support program.

The alleged incidents, which reportedly began in November 2023, included meet-ups both on and off campus – with Nutley having had explicit exchanges with the student, sent nude pictures and continued to pursue him after he tried to end it, according to Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers.

Prosecutor Powers said Nutley’s alleged behaviour was “absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible conduct from an adult”, and that the student – who was in need of educational support – was allegedly taken advantage of by “an adult looking to act out her perverted sexual desires”. She added the alleged relationship escalated to them having sex several times in mid-November, including one time in her office at the all-boys’ school.

Nutley, a mum of two, was dismissed from the school earlier this month and Powers thanked the Springfield Township Police and St. Xavier High School for their investigation, reports US Journal. The school charges $18,130 (£14,000) a year in tuition, plus $300 in admin fees.

The Hamilton County prosecutor revealed: “This is absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible conduct from an adult towards a minor child. This child was in need of help and guidance but instead found an adult looking to act out her perverted sexual desires.

“I want to thank the Springfield Township Police and St. Xavier High School for their thorough investigation in this matter. Let me be very clear: this is child sexual abuse. This child was the victim of an adult predator who should never again have a role that puts her in contact with children.

“She used this child for her own sexual gratification while taking advantage of the position she held.”

The educator has two daughters and a son, reports the Mail, the eldest of whom is a junior at a different high school and slightly younger than the alleged victim. She’s reported to have formerly taught at Madeira Elementary School, also in Cincinnati, Ohio, and posted photos of her work and students there on social media.

“The kids that need the most love will ask for it in the most unloving ways. Be THAT person for THAT student,” one post read. Another went on: “HELLO! 3rd graders! See someone alone, reach out and help, say hello.”

Nutley is due in court on November 8. If convicted of the alleged crimes, Nutley could face up to 15 years in prison and may be required to register as a sex offender.
