Dad who downed 4.5 litres of Dr Pepper a day and spent £30k on fizzy drink kicks behavior

A dad dubbed ‘Dr Pepper man’ who drank 4.5 litres of the fizzy stuff a day says he has kicked the habit.

Tom Bowey guzzled can after can day from morning to night and estimates that he has spent £30,000 on the pop over the last 10 years.

The 42-year-old has nearly lost all of his teeth from the sugar in the fizz – but now says he has kicked the £250-per month habit for good, thanks to hypnosis.

Tom, from Marlow, Buckinghamshire, said: “It was all day, from when I woke up until 10pm. I found it hard to fall asleep because I had so much caffeine and sugar in my system.

“I’d have my first one as soon as I woke up and then when I left the house I would always take a can with me for the drive to work as well.

“I’d buy two bottles before I got into work from the shop to have in the morning and then I’d have another two for in the afternoon then I’d sip them throughout the day.”

Desperate to stop he tried hypnosis which has worked and he has since dropped a stone and now only drinks squash.

“It’s changed my life,” he said.
