Mohamed Salah drops enormous trace on Liverpool future with ‘it doesn’t matter what’ message

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has shared a mysterious message about his future at the club, stating: “No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”

The Reds’ star player took to social media on Sunday to express the team’s determination to make a serious bid for the Premier League title. Salah scored a spectacular second goal on Saturday afternoon, helping Liverpool recover from a one-goal deficit to secure a 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield.

This win put them two points ahead of Manchester City, who suffered a similar defeat against Bournemouth. Arsenal also lost 1-0 to Newcastle United, a defeat which means they now sit seven points behind Liverpool.

Salah’s goal against Brighton also saw him move past Robbie Fowler to become the eighth highest scorer in Premier League history with 165 goals. However, with just over six months remaining on his current contract with Liverpool, it remains uncertain how much further he can climb up this list, reports the Liverpool Echo.

In less than two months, the Egyptian will be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside England. That situation is a massive concern to Liverpool supporters, especially because the world class star confessed “it’s my last year at the club” when he was interviewed after the league leaders thrashed Manchester United 3-0 earlier in the campaign.

Following the win over Brighton, Salah took to Instagram, writing: “Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end. That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”

Salah is expected to be in the starting line-up on Tuesday night when Liverpool face off against Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen in the restructured Champions League, with the Reds aiming for their fourth consecutive victory in the revamped European tournament.
