Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Ricky Martin amongst celebs becoming a member of Kamala Harris at closing rallies

Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Ricky Martin were among celebrities joining Kamala Harris at her final rallies in Pennsylvania last night.

The stars came out for the Vice President on the eve of the US election – with Will.I.Am, Oprah Winfrey and DJ Jazzy Jeff all appearing on Philadelphia’s famous “Rocky Steps” to support her.

And in simultaneous concert rallies in swing states across America, more celebs including Jon Bon Jovi and Katy Perry turned out to back Ms Harris.

In her final speech of the campaign, Ms Harris described the steps, made famous by Sylvester Stallone’s Oscar winning 1976 movie, as “a tribute to those who start as the underdog and go on to victory.”

Urging her supporters to “finish strong”, Ms Harris made her final speech a message of optimism.

She said: “Our campaign has tapped into the ambitions and the aspirations and the trains of the American people. We are optimistic and we are excited about what we can do together and we know it is time for a new generation of leadership in America.

“And I am ready to offer that leadership as the next president of the United States of America.”

Lady Gaga took to the stage late into the evening, performing God Bless America from the piano, before giving a short speech.

She said: “Today I am holding in my heart all the tenacious women who made me who I am. I cast my vote for someone who will be a President for all Americans.”

Ms Winfrey took to the stage in Philadelphia alongside some first-time voters, then addressed the crowd: “We are voting to defend and protect the constitution of the United States.

“We are voting for values. We’re voting for values and integrity. We are voting for the right to choose what happens to our own bodies. We are we are voting to save ourselves from this precipice of danger where we now stand.”

Earlier, in Pittsburgh, the vice president’s rally featured Cedric the Entertainer, Katy Perry and Andra Day.

While Harris focused on optimism about the future and never mentioned Trump by name, the Republican nominee branded his opponent “low IQ” during his final speech in Grand Rapids, Michigan

His running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, followed Trump’s lead during his own rally in Atlanta, telling the crowd that “we are going to take out the trash in Washington, D.C., and the trash’s name is Kamala Harris.”
