Harry and Meghan have a ‘back-up plan’ if Donald Trump sticks to his phrase on prince

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a savvy back-up plan, should Donald Trump boot the royals out now he’s the President again.

Trump, the first convicted criminal to hold the top dog position, has previously suggested he would take “appropriate action” with Prince Harry over his historic drug taking, if he was re-elected. This could see the 78-year-old president boot the Sussexes out of the States all together.

Prince Harry has potentially stuffed his visa up when he revealed he had taken cocaine, weed and psychedelics in his bomb-dropping, tell-all memoir Spare.

In his book, the dad-of-two, recalled that a bin grinned at him while on mushrooms at a Hollywood party and that cocaine “didn’t do anything for him. Marijuana, however, “really did help” the fifth in line to the throne.

His candour left the impeached former president and current President Elect less than impressed, with royal expert Hugo Vickers telling The Sun that Trump could suddenly say, “Right, I’m sending Prince Harry out of this country” because Harry didn’t declare his drug use on his visa application.

Hugo continued: “I think it’s very wise to take all the possibilities into account [and look to live elsewhere]. Looking at it from the outside, it makes perfect sense that they should have a backup plan. But Meghan is very US-based and [Harry being kicked out] would be a problem for them.”

And it appears Meghan and Harry could use their new Portuguese holiday home, which is close to a home owned by Princess Eugene, reports the Mirror. The purchase, would pave the way for Harry and Meghan to obtain a ‘Golden Visa’ which would grant them visa-free entry to the EU’s Schengen area, MailOnline suggests.

Another royal expert, Richard Fitzwilliams, however, doesn’t think the Sussexes will relocate to Portugal permanently.

He told the Daily Express: “I don’t think that the home in Portugal is intended as a permanent base to replace California.

“Harry was extremely foolish to discuss his drug taking in Spare both in interviews and in the memoir, available in paperback. However, the Sussexes have kept a relatively low profile during the election, urging Americans to vote but not being explicit as to whom for.”

He added that it was “most unlikely” Trump would risk an embarrassing Royal Family episode by expelling Harry.
