Man Utd ‘might end within the prime 4’ underneath Ruben Amorim if he indicators Viktor Gyokeres

Manchester United have a chance of getting Champions League football if they sign Viktor Gyokeres, says a supercomputer.

AI, in the form of ChatGPT, believes that if Sporting striker Gyokeres joins United along with new manager Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils could secure a top four finish – and it has reasons.

Amorim’s flexible pressing style at Sporting has proven a mighty success. They currently sit top of the Portuguese league having won all of their first 10 games. They sit second in the Champions League table following their thrashing against Manchester City, where Gyokeres bagged himself a hat-trick.

In the league alone, Gyokeres has scored 16 goals in 10 games. Amorim has trusted him as a central striker thanks to his physicality and pace, but has also allowed the Swede to pull wide and drop deep.

United’s forward Rasmus Holjund has struggled this season so far. An injury halted his start, and when back playing, he has only scored one goal. The attacking has largely come from wide players like Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.

Gyokeres’ ability to hold up the ball could allow United’s wingers to join the attack more effectively. It would also bring Bruno Fernandes into play a lot more.

The Red Devils have spent a lot of time on the pitch this season sat back, playing like underdogs. Although this play style is likely to change with the introduction of Amorim, the key to a drop-back defence is your counter attack.

The pace of Gyokeres and his desire to press with aggression would create more counter-attacking opportunities; especially with the pace of a player like Rashford next to him.

So what would this mean for United? Well, AI believes that if Amorim brings in his beloved Swedish striker alongside the Portuguese managers fresh tactics, a top-four finish could be realistic.

The one thing that United must be careful of is not replicating an Erik Ten Hag style transfer style.

Ten Hag signed five players in which he had previously managed during his time at Ajax with the most infamous one being Antony. The Brazilian cost them £80m and is yet to prove his worth.

Amorim will officially join united on Monday 11th November meaning his first game will follow the international break against Ipswich at Portman Road.

Gyokeres release clause is worth around £83m, however, the Swedish superstar reportedly has a deal with Sporting in which he can leave next summer for an approximate £54m.
