Nigel Farage sees himself as a Donald Trump-type person, a body language expert has revealed.
The Reform UK leader has backed the 47th President of the United States throughout his campaign, even heading State-side for the election.
As Trump inched closer to election, Farage told GB News that he has been “loyal to this guy through thick and thin”, and called on Kier Starmer to “embrace” the opportunities the new leader will bring.

However, leading body language expert Darren Stanton has highlighted just how much respect and affection the “smug” right-leaning politician has for the divisive American figure. Stanton claims Farage “sees himself” in the Republican.
Looking at videos of Farage during the election campaign, Stanton, on behalf of Slingo, added that Farage had “genuine passion and emotion” when speaking about Trump.
Stanton said: “People level Farage as our very own Donald Trump. There’s not many people that we hear Farage speak about with such reverence. He has massively high respect for Trump and he’s someone that Farage mirrors himself on.
“He speaks about him with so much passion and emotion. Farage says by his own admission, ‘I’ve been massively loyal to this guy, he’s been down and out,’ he sees himself as a similar person. He sees Trump as a role model for himself.”
Studying Farage’s blink rate when talking about Trump, Stanton noted that it “increases quite a lot”, adding: “While often a sign of nervousness or anxiety, here it shows Farage’s excitement.”
While Farage has got nothing but admiration for Trump, Stanton noted the politician “flashes a microexpression of contempt” when he mentions the UK Prime Minister.
Stanton said: “He’s got nothing but contempt from Starmer and a little bit of anger – presumably because he knows Starmer isn’t likely to embrace the opportunities Farage believes the UK now has with Trump back in office.”
The body language expert went on to say: “There’s a real smugness about Farage. You can see this in the smirk he holds on his face while discussing Trump. He’s out there in the thick of it in the US and he sees himself as a conduit between the UK and the US. His delivery of his support for Trump and his respect for Trump is genuine.”
