The Princess of Wales leaned on the solidarity of the Duchess of Edinburgh at the emotional Remembrance Sunday service today (November 11), a lip reader has claimed
At today’s service held at the Cenotaph Kate stunned onlookers with her presence signalling her resilient return to Royal duties amidst her recovery from a cancer diagnosis – and she observed the wreath-laying event from the balcony of the Foreign Office. With Queen Camilla at home fighting a chest infection, Kate was initially set to stand alone on the main balcony without her company.
However, plans were shifted last minute for Sophie to leave her post that was designated beside the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester on a nearby balcony to provide comfort next to Kate.
Early in the ceremony, casual conversation and friendly exchanges between Kate and Sophie were noted by onlookers. And one professional lip reader reckons they’ve cracked what the duo discussed.
Speaking to The Sun, lip reader Kayleigh Harris suggested that Kate mentioned to Sophie: “She will be supported in this.”
To which Sophie responded: “Yes, and especially…” The identities of whom they were discussing, however, remain a mystery.
This follows observations from a body language expert who hinted that Sophie made a discreet signal to Prince William, conveying support towards Kate. Upon their departure from the balcony when the event came to an end, Sophie’s tender gesture of placing her hand gently on Kate’s back hinted at a warm and supportive bond.
Body language expert Judi James told the Mirror: “Sophie was clearly in the role of temporary stand-in for William. She chatted to Kate on the balcony as the two women stood side-by-side and despite Kate’s impeccable appearance of confidence as she stood in the spot that used to belong to the late Queen, Sophie appeared to be keeping a watchful eye over her as Anne has clearly been keeping over brother Charles.”
“It was the small touch or even pat on the back as Kate walked ahead inside the building that seemed to not only offer a form of maternal affection, caring and reassurance or even congratulation to her niece-in-law, but it also looked like the visible proof to William that Kate is in very safe and caring royal hands when he is not there by her side.”
During today’s service, Kate donned three red poppies, often speculated to honour her great-grandmother’s three brothers who tragically died in the First World War.
