Embarrassing element on this photograph of a plumbing job leaves Aussies in stitches

Aussies have poked fun at a plumber over a massive fail that has left many scratching their heads and wondering how it happened in the first place.

The tradie had been contracted to carry out work on a property at Clayton in south-east Victoria.

A video showed the length of a PVC pipe running alongside the building and skirting around a gate – trapping it against the wall.

The footage was shared to Instagram where social media users said the plumber seemed like they couldn’t have cared less about the job.

‘New gate lock looks good,’ one wrote sarcastically.

‘Seriously how does that person think they’re doing the right thing,’ another wondered.

‘The award of “I don’t give a f***” goes to…’ another said.

‘Not my job huh,’ a fourth added.

The Aussie job site became the ridicule of tradies online after closing over an open gate with PVC pipe

Some defended the construction, noting the piping, at least, appeared to be functional.

‘S*** runs downhill and payday is Thursday is all that’s important,’ one man wrote.

‘What’s the problem…? Water runs downhill,’ another agreed.

‘C’mon it was a Friday afternoon,’ another jokingly said.

One tradie dropped a classic: ‘Looks good from my place.’

Another man said the tradies should have used common sense and consulted the higher-ups before blocking the gate.

‘Engineers of all trades and designers need to communicate between each other through the entirety of the build,’ he said.

‘I’ve seen this type of s*** way too much and I blame them and the occasional foreman of the job who couldn’t care.

‘Tradies don’t want to install stuff they know is completely wrong but their concerns fall onto deaf ears and lose all sense of care.

‘It can be so frustrating as a tradie honestly. Just my opinion, you get payed to do what you’re told despite others incompetence or ignorance.

‘Go home at the end of the day and leave work behind, enjoy the rest of it with your family.’

Though many wondered if the pipe wasn’t just a temporary fixture on the building.

‘Surely that’s temp plumbing,’ one wrote.

‘Either that or a temporary plumber,’ another replied.
