Awkward second Donald Trump snubs daughter Ivanka for Elon Musk in household portrait

An awkward moment where Donald Trump appears to snub his daughter, Ivanka, for Elon Musk has been captured in a new behind-the-scenes video.

On Monday, the president-elect’s granddaughter Kai shared a YouTube video showing what really happened on election night at Mar-a-Lago and featured the exchange.

As Trump was posing for photos with his various grandchildren, as well as son Don Jr. and ex-wife Vanessa, someone suggested that it was time for a family shot.

Ivanka, dressed in a blue velvet pantsuit, began to step into the frame, as did Elon Musk and his son, X Æ A-12.

But it looks like Trump didn’t want Ivanka stepping into the photo – at least not at that moment – as he pointed at the X owner and said: ‘We have to get Elon with his boy.’

‘Gorgeous, perfect boy,’ Trump added, as Elon and his son posed with the large group

Ivanka awkwardly began to step away as Elon joined her family.

After the group took the snap, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, were able to step into the photo, along with her brother, Eric, and his wife, Lara.

Her sister, Tiffany, also posed at the end of the row alongside her husband, Michael Boulos.

The family then broke away for some solo shots, as Kai, who is the daughter of Don Jr., posed next to her grandfather in a sparkling black mini dress.

Kai took footage of the exciting night, when Trump was elected as the 47th President of the United States, beating out Vice President Kamala Harris for the ticket.

And, while Ivanka didn’t join her father on the campaign trail this year, she was present for the big night at Mar-a-Lago.

She stood next to her husband on stage, next to Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha.

Although she didn’t join her Dad on the campaign trail this year, Ivanka was present at the 2024 Republican National Convention

And, just days after Trump won the ticket, it was finally revealed why Ivanka would never come back to politics.

The former shoe designer acted as the senior advisor in her father’s administration.

But those days are long gone, according to the source, who explained that things began to sour for Ivanka after the riot on January 6, and after she was subpoenaed during the investigation into the president’s efforts to stay in power.

‘She felt like she was being asked to reveal something she did not know anything about and she never wants to be in [that] position again,’ the source told DailyMail.com.

‘Her family means the world to her and she is now focusing on being a mom and other private ventures,’ they continued, adding she is ‘completely happy where she is in her life.’

‘She is perfectly finding handing the reins to Lara [Trump] this time around. Not her circus, not her monkeys.’

Lara, who is married to Ivanka’s brother Eric, took on a larger role during Trump’s campaign this time around, standing by his side at many rallies, including two that took place a mere day before the eve of the election.

Lara is also the co-chair of the Republican National Committee.

However, Ivanka’s stance may not come as a surprise to many, as she said that she did not ‘plan to be involved in politics’ anymore in a statement following her absence from her father’s 2022 campaign launch.

‘I love my father very much,’ she said at the time.

This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.’

Just mere hours before Tuesday’s election, Ivanka avoided any political talk and instead took to Instagram to share a list of 16 lessons she’s learned after her 43rd birthday.

Some of these lessons included that family and friends ‘are everything’ as she urged followers to ‘forgive people’ and understand that ‘everyone is a teacher.’

She also posted photos of flowers and horses over the weekend and on Monday.
