Psycho scumbag robots are gearing up to replace Santa Claus.
Artificial intelligence networks are telling Brits they have the power to choose the world’s most perfect Christmas gifts. And boastful AIs are even recommending AI-driven tech as “dream” festive presents.
Research shows a massive 57% of of us are stuck for Christmas gift ideas. And most have turned to bots such as ChatGPT to service them with potential lists of present-buying plans.
Many of the users reported AI is recommending itself in AI gadgets – such as smart home devices and personal assistants – as “dream” gifts.
The findings, from bespoke gift service Regency Hampers, also revealed nearly three-quarters of folk are convinced AI “Santa Clauses” will become “the norm” by the “near future”.
But the company warned there is no substitute for the human touch when in comes to choosing presents for loved ones.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “While it’s fascinating to see the rise of AI in holiday shopping, we know nothing beats the timeless appeal of a thoughtful, beautifully packaged gift.
“Regency Hampers’ curated selections offer a real-life alternative that can make gift-giving less stressful while maintaining the charm of a well-chosen present.”
The company’s survey into Christmas shopping habits also revealed a massive 91% of us struggle to find unique gifts.
Nearly a quarter of consumers admit they “always” feel the pressure to choose the perfect festive present.
Regency Hampers added: “While traditional Christmas shopping is often thought of as a joy, the reality of navigating endless options and uncertain tastes leaves many people feeling overwhelmed.”
According to its survey, 55% of participants admitted the process of selecting gifts at Christmas was “somewhat stressful” – with 6% labelling it “extremely” stress-inducing.
Of those who said they have already used AI suggestions to pick up Christmas gifts, only 18% said they were “satisfied” with artificial intelligence-generated gift ideas.
But 61% felt AI had enough “insight” to make more “meaningful recommendations” for presents than they would have come up with on their own.
Nearly half of respondents – 48% – said they would be happy to receive a gift selected by AI.
Only 6% said they would feel “disappointed” if they knew a present they had been given was the product of an AI recommendation.
