UK holidaymakers eyeing up a Spanish getaway might need to rethink their plans as easyJet is axing flights to a favourite hotspot. A customer looking to book a seat to Madrid was left scratching their head when they couldn’t spot any flights after the early part of next year.
They contacted the airline on X, asking: “are you stopping the route Madrid-Luton after March 2025?” They sent a screenshot showing the cheapest flight prices from London Luton to Madrid, with the last ones in March.
As it stands, the last chance to hop on the Luton-Madrid or Madrid-Luton route is Friday, March 28. easyJet replied: “Some routes are seasonal. We are constantly reviewing our routes and flight availability, so please continue to check our website.”
They also sent over a web link for where the person could sign up for updates when the latest flights are released. For travellers looking for a bargain, easyJet has a low-fare finder to nab some of the cheapest seats including for 2025.
Some of you might still be dead set on a city break in the Spanish capital. If so, there are still plenty of flights jetting off from other London airports to Madrid during the sunny season next year.
Ryanair has flights between Stansted and Madrid, while British Airways and Iberia run flights to and from Heathrow. Meanwhile, easyJet has been making headlines with its launch of five spanking new routes from Birmingham Airport.
You can snag a return trip to Marrakesh in Morocco for as little as £31.99. If you don’t mind cooler climes, you can fly to Reykjavik, with flights to Iceland’s capital starting at £50.29.
The airline is also spreading its wings to Hurghada in Egypt, Prague in the Czech Republic, and Krakow in Poland.
