Luke Littler survives almighty scare in opposition to Mike De Decker in prompt basic

Luke Littler has survived an almighty scare in the Grand Slam of Darts.

The Nuke, with his back firmly against the wall, won six of the last seven legs against the World Grand Prix champion. Mike De Decker’s scoring power had kept the 17-year-old sensation at arm’s length – but it was enough to stop the prodigy who was on a warpath.

Littler took out treble 18 and double 16 to emerge the victor and move onto the quarter-finals. “Fair play, Luke Littler, that was an incredible win. Some comeback that,” one fan said.

“That’s a sensational comeback from Luke The Nuke, 8-4 down and survived a match dart to come back and win,” a second posted. While a third shared: “Luke Littler is an absolute freak of this sport. Unbelievable darts!”

“Littler was so good towards the end. Is this the greatest come back of all time in Darts,” a fourth asked. And another added: “It is the mentality of Luke Littler that still has me shaking my head. Just incredible!”

Littler had started the better of the two, racing into a 2-0 lead.

However, De Decker pegged him back and started to move into the ascendancy with some high scores. Littler had no answer to some monster to checkouts from the Belgian, finding himself 8-4 down and on the brink of elimination.

Littler would dig deep, very deep, taking the game to a decider with the score level at 9-9. De Decker missed a shot at a match dart as Littler could breath a sigh of relief after taking out 86.
