Sir Elton recently revealed that he’d quit sugar to control his blood sugar levels after battling health woes.

But his dramatic change in appearance has also led to speculation as to whether he may have used popular weight loss medication such as Ozempic.

With a source telling In Touch: ‘Elton’s sudden transformation has sparked widespread fears for his well-being, particularly regarding the risks associated with rapid weight-loss methods,’

‘Naturally there is speculation he turned to weight-loss drugs to achieve such rapid results.’

MailOnline have contacted Elton’s reps for comment.

The singer detailed the tweak to his diet on Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast, where he said it had been a ‘long time’ since he had eaten his favourite sweet treats.

Confirming he’s given up sugar, he said: ‘I can have an apple, I can eat a bit of melon. As long as you’re sensible about it, it doesn’t shoot your blood sugar up. But what I crave is chocolate and ice cream, I can’t have any ice cream.’

Sir Elton, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the early 2000s, also revealed his fantasy last meal would be full of sugar-laden desserts.

He said: ‘If I had a death row meal, it wouldn’t contain anything except sweets, because I can’t eat them now. So, I’d have ice cream, donuts, apple pie, rhubarb crumble.’

The Candle In The Wind singer has suffered with various health issues over the years including knee and hip replacements, surgery for prostate cancer and most recently revealed he has limited vision in one eye following a severe eye infection.

In a post on Instagram he said: ‘Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye.

‘I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.

Last month, he said: ‘To be honest with you, there’s not much of me left. I don’t have tonsils, adenoids or an appendix. I don’t have a prostate. I don’t have a right hip or a left knee or a right knee. In fact, the only thing left to me is my left hip. But I’m still here.’

His outing comes after Sir Elton released a new song with US star Brandi Carlile called Never Too Late, which was inspired by his forthcoming Disney+ documentary of the same name.

The Rocket Man said collaborating with the Grammy-winning singer on the hopeful track, which reflects on getting back on track in life, was ‘deeply moving’.

It will play out over the credits of the documentary, which follows Sir Elton as he looks back on his life and the early days of his decades-long career.

Speaking about the collaboration, Sir Elton said: ‘When Brandi told me she was so inspired by the early cut of the documentary that she wanted us to co-write a new song for it, I was thrilled. We loved the collaboration so much that it became the title of the film.

‘I’ve known for a long time how great she was but still, reading her lyrics and co-writing with her on the music was deeply moving.

‘Especially given how personal it is to see, seeing my life on the screen, she just perfectly captured the essence of the documentary and why I stopped touring to spend more time with my family.

‘I’m constantly astonished by her craft, she can channel my voice in a way only Bernie has managed to do before. I know Bernie helped guide Brandi on that.

‘The standard of her musicianship, her songwriting, her passion for what she does are sensational. She truly is one of the greatest there is.’

Directed by RJ Cutler and Sir Elton’s husband, David Furnish, the documentary also captures the veteran singer preparing for his final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, having performed two sold-out concerts at the venue back in 1975.

His headline set at Glastonbury in 2023 marked his last UK performance as part of his 330-date marathon Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which he drew to a close with an emotionally charged show in Stockholm, Sweden.
