YouTube star Jake Paul defeated the legendary Mike Tyson in their long awaited boxing bout at AT&T Stadium.
The fight, which went the distance in Dallas, saw Paul come out on top by unanimous decision. The judges official scorecards read 80-72, 79-73, 79-73.
However, boos rang out around the stadium as soon as the bout between Paul and Tyson had finished, with some underwhelmed by the fight.
After nearly two decades away from the ring, Tyson returned to take on Paul, who lost his last bout prior to facing the legendary boxer to Tommy Fury out in Saudi Arabia.
The opening round was a scrappy affair, with Tyson and Paul trading a few solid blows. In round two, Tyson appeared to battling both Paul and his mouthpiece. The 58-year-old kept touching and biting down on it as if it was giving him trouble.
But, round three saw both Paul and Tyson come out swinging with a barrage of punches leaving both feeling the impact of the fight. Tyson’s age began to show towards the end of the third round, with Paul using his reach to continuously deliver jab after jab. However, the ensuing rounds saw Tyson’s energy wane, which led to Paul coming out on top via unanimous decision.
After the fight, the pair bowed and shared a moment inside the ring – a vastly different outcome to things considering Tyson’s pre-fight slap he delivered to Paul when the pair faced off earlier this week.
One individual who hated seeing Tyson go out against Paul in the fashion he did was former British boxer Tony Bellew, who took to X to voice his frustrations. Bellew wrote on X: “WE are all to blame for this man!! We are all talking and watching! We have to stop this fool! Don’t tune into him until he fights someone who is fit healthy and not a grandfather! Any proper boxing people helping Paul need to look at themselves ffs!! This is just sad.”
