Are you a ‘Last Minute Louise’ or an ‘Organised Ollie’ when it comes to Christmas shopping?
A recent poll of 2,000 adults who celebrate Christmas revealed that one in five have already wrapped their presents before December even starts.
A third see themselves as incredibly organised ‘early birds’, while 18% will leave most of their gift buying until the last few days. Among those who confess to leaving it late, 46% blame indecision over what to buy, while 28% say they’re too busy with work.
The survey was commissioned by Toblerone Truffles for its ‘Add a diamond’ campaign and found that 34% feel the festive season ‘creeps up on them’ each year.
A quarter of late gift-givers have hastily bought a gift card instead of a more thoughtful present because they left their shopping too late or grabbed a gift from the local corner shop.
Those who finish their shopping early believe it reduces stress (56%) and helps avoid missing out due to stock issues (42%).
Susanne Nowak from the chocolatier said: “Everyone has a different approach to their Christmas shopping. Some love the thrill of a last-minute dash, while others prefer to get their work done early on so they can enjoy the season without present-buying hanging over them.”
“However, it can be hard to think of what to buy certain people in our lives, so taking the opportunity to do something unexpected will always be welcome.”
Toblerone, has also created a wrapping guide to help the 15% who rated themselves as ‘poor’ wrappers.
“Regardless of wrapping ability, there are always little ways you can boost a present to give it that magic touch it might need. Either way, adding some chocolate can elevate a gift from great to perfect,” Susanne added.
