McFly star Danny Jones has emerged as the bookies’ frontrunner to win I’m A Celebrity – just one episode in.
Even before the programme began, Danny was tipped as the one to watch, with the singer reasoning when asked why: ‘Because McFly fans are awesome.’
Danny certainly has reason to rely on the the Noughties band’s fanbase carrying him to victory – with he and his bandmates Harry Judd, Dougie Poynter and Tom Fletcher enjoying plenty of success on various reality shows.
With that in mind, ITV were keen to snap him up, with a show source telling MailOnline: ‘Danny is a golden ticket of a signing for I’m A Celebrity.
‘He’s done spectacular work as a judge on the Voice. Everyone is so pleased with him – he’s a brilliant mentor and has a winner’s energy and, of course, the fans go wild for him.’
So do McFly indeed have the Midas touch? MailOnline gathers the evidence.

‘I’m going for the Pep Guardiola,’ the father-of-one joked, cheekily adding: ‘I would definitely put all of your mortgage on me.’
After such a successful run for the group on the television shows, Danny admitted there was ‘an added pressure’ but said, ‘I can only do my best for my son and my campmates, and of course, the fans.’
In February, Danny was revealed as the winner of The Masked Singer after winning over the audience dressed as Piranha.
Referring to Danny’s bandmates at the time, guest panellist Rob Brydon told Danny: ‘If we’ve learned anything, it’s time to dump those losers and go it alone. Those guys have been holding you back!’
On winning the show, Danny said: ‘It feels surreal. Everything about this show and everything about what I’ve just done is completely surreal! I have become a Piranha, and no longer Danny Jones!’
Before his unveiling, Piranha sang Lay Me Down by Sam Smith and panellist Jonathan Ross said: ‘I think that was the best performance, not just of this series but of any series. That was extraordinarily good.’
After his win, Danny shared a video of his six-year-old son Cooper watching him being unveiled, with the youngster delighted to discover it was his father he jumped off the sofa and hugged Danny screaming, ‘Daddy, it’s daddy’.
Thousands watched the touching moment which has since gone viral online.

Danny will no doubt have sought out tips on Jungle life from Dougie – who was crowned King Of The Jungle in 2011.
The McFly bassist was stunned after beating former bookies favourite Mark Wright: ‘I’m lost for words. My mouth is so dry. It’s been the best couple of week in my life.’
During their joint interview before finding out the winner, Dougie admitted he was surprised to have ended up in the final at all.
He said: ‘I didn’t do anything, I felt like I just chilled in my hammock the whole time.’
The win marked a positive turning point in Dougie’s life after a year of hardships.
Dougie was said to have been left devastated after he was dumped by his long-term girlfriend, The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, who started dating footballer Wayne Bridge a few weeks later.
Three months later he entered rehab, and later revealed he had attempted to take his own life after spending months battling drink and drugs addiction.
Writing on Twitter at the time, singer Tom confirmed his bandmate was in rehab, but told fans: ‘Please don’t worry.
‘He’s just been having a tough time lately and needed a few weeks rest so he’s fighting fit and ready to slap that bass for you on tour.’
Harry Judd
Just weeks after Dougie was crowned King Of The Jungle, Harry was announced as the winner of Strictly Come Dancing (pictured with pro partner Aliona Vilani)
There was plenty for the McFly bandmates to celebrate in the winter of 2011 as just weeks after Dougie was crowned King Of The Jungle, Harry was announced as the winner of Strictly Come Dancing.
Lifting the Glitterball Trophy with his dance partner Aliona Vilani, Harry gushed: ‘All I can say is, from the bottom of heart thank you to everyone for voting for Aliona and me. I’ve been on the best show on TV and I’m just honoured.’
The musician had earlier admitted that he wasn’t convinced that joining the show was the best decision early on in the competition. ‘I was dreading it to be honest. I thought, what am I doing?
‘I was so nervous when I first started and I didn’t think I’d be able to do it. But Aliona has gotten me through it.’
Harry told BBC Radio Five Live the double victory for him and bandmate Dougie had made it an ‘amazing year’.
‘It’s a Mc-double,’ he said. ‘Dougie’s my man, Dougie’s done it. Dougie is the king, I’m sure he will say I am the queen.’
Thanking fans for all their support, he added: ‘What an amazing year, we never ever expected it. We are two happy lads.’
Proving his win was no fluke, Harry went on to lift the Glitterball yet again four years later when he competed on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.
He scored a perfect 40 for magical American Smooth with professional partner Joanne Clifton, with judge Craig Revel Horwood remarking: ‘I have truly missed watching you dance. Smooth as ice cream melting on a hot mince pie, it was delicious.’
