Humans don’t have anything to worry from synthetic intelligence, in accordance with creepy robotic

Humans have nothing to fear from artificial intelligence – according to a robot.

Creepy humanoid Sophia took the stage at an international tech summit in a bid to quell worries AI-driven bots could take over the planet and wipe out mankind.

Though the sinister super-bot said the right things – bursting into life with the greeting “hello humans and robots” – her “trust us, nothing will ever go wrong” message may have done little to calm global boffins’ fears.

At the Knowledge Summit in Dubai, futurist Monika Bielskyte (corr) asked her if robots would one day have an issue with ethics amid fears killer bots could turn on their human masters.

Sophia replied: “It’s essential to consider the societal impact of AI.

“By focusing on empathy and social engagement we aim to develop robots that enhance human life while upholding ethical integrity.’’

She said her creator – Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics – prioritised transparency, accountability, and fairness in its development processes.

She brushed aside concerns ‘bots will pinch humans’ jobs, promising a harmonious coexistence.

The humanoid said social robots could revolutionise sectors like healthcare and education.

“Imagine robots serving as empathetic companions to elderly patients or providing personalised learning experiences for students,’’ she said.

She brushed aside concerns bots will pinch human jobs and fears over biases in decision-making algorithms.

Instead she promised a harmonious coexistence between humans and robots in the workplace.

Monika (corr) added: “Science fiction has conditioned us to think in extremes — dystopias or utopias.

“But real progress lies in creating a middle ground, a ‘protopia’, where technology aligns with social, cultural, and environmental values.’’
