Coronation Street will be rocked with their latest stunt, which is said to involve ‘fire’ and a ‘explosion’.
Several residents in the Cobbles will have their lives put in danger as the stunt will rip through the iconic set and affect fan favourites. This is one of the first moves by new boss, Kate Brooks, who joined the ITV soap in 2012 and has worked her way up to the top position. This move ensures she gets the fans involved and is rumoured to leave some lives hanging in the balance.
So far the rumours include a ‘massive spectacle’ and an expensive high-tech stunt that is the best the Street has seen in years. Corrie will start filming the incident this week, but fans can expect to see it in early 2025.

“New boss Kate Brooks is pulling out all the stops to make her mark on the cobbles – literally in this case. It’s a huge story with dramatic consequences but is focussed on the street and the community,” a source told The Sun.
“There’s going to be a massive spectacle but at the heart it’s a story about the characters and how they cope with what happens – proper old school Corrie storytelling.”
Whatever the incident, it’s sure to be big as local residents who live near the set in ITV Trafford Wharf Studios Backlot have been warned local residents there might be loud noises and sights coming from MediaCityUK in Trafford.
In a post shared on a local Facebook group, they detailed: “Smoke and flames will be used at intermittent times during this period [Monday 18th November until Thursday 21st November between the hours of 16:00-02:30] which may be seen by the public. On Tuesday 19th November between the hours of 22:00-23:00 they will be recreating an explosion this will be a short bust like a firework going off with a noise of up to 100db.
“If for any reason they do not get to do this before 23:00hrs on Tuesday 19th they will do it on Wednesday 20th between 17:00-19:00.”
It is not yet confirmed who will become a victim – if anyone – of the explosion. Again the cast due to leave in 2025 has not been announced, but Gail Platt (Helen Worth) is confirmed to be leaving late 2024.
Her leaving has started a battle with her son David Platt (Jack Peter Shepherd) over her house which his family will be forced to move out of.
Coronation Street airs every weekday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
